Summary, in English

Making money at the expense of planet Earth is an unfortunate practice that has strengthened over the years with dire consequences for the environment and human rights.Although several initiatives have been taken at different levels to counter this phenomenon, environmentally unfriendly activities continue to be among the most serious crimes and human rights violations, while the need to prevent them has become more urgent than ever. This paper aims to contribute to the ongoing debate on these issues by exploring the interaction between human rights law and international criminal law. The paper calls for more coordinated cooperation between these two branches of international law to effectively prevent and address serious environmental damage in times of peace and war.
